One week from today...

This will be our new home!!

We have a lot of work to do as it needs ALOT of updating, but we will have SO much more room and Matthew's wheelchair moves very nicely throughout it. SO much better than our current multi-level home.

I'm all smiles for you. I'm so glad it worked out.

Praying for energy as you go through the packing, hauling, and unpacking stages.

So glad that you guys are getting something better suited to your needs. There is nothing like having a more accessible home. Don't know what we would do w/o ours. SO excited for you guys! You gotta show some more pictures.

Oh Jill! It is perfect! I am in love with those windows, I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE diamond shaped windows like that. Just ask Donald, I talk about them all the time....but you rarely see them any more. Please tell me that part of your updating doesn't include changing out the windows :)

Now I can't wait to see pictures of the inside.

I am glad that you'll have a good space to accomidate Matthews chair.

That's something I think about with Elisabeth on occasion. Our current home is not wheelchair friendly and the childrens bedrooms are all upstairs.

I have a feeling that we'll need to find a place more suitable for Elisabeth (room for her chair, bedroom downstairs) as she grows because I think it will start getting tiring carrying her up and down the staircase.

But everytime I mention these thoughts to Donald he says we wouldn't have to worry about that for a long, long time. I have a feeling though that we'll want to be thinking about it sooner than he thinks. It's just sad to think about because we love our current home and bought it with the idea that we would stay here forever...but that was before Elisabeth was born.

Anyways, now that I have rambled on and on.......

Your new home is absolutely lovely. I love everything about it.

[post some inside pictures, pretty please :) ]

Lisa,

Oh, the diamond shaped windows.. {sheepishly hiding behind my hands}...I can't say I'm a huge fan. That wood pops right out from the glass, so I wouldn't have to change the windows, but just pop the wood out. I can't promise you it's staying :(...Maybe it will grow on me. Because you like it, I will leave it for a while and see if I grow to like it :)...I'm not going to tell you what I was going to do.

And I will post pictures of the inside!! One has to look past the 80's style though. It needs a lot of TLC, the bones of the house are good and the fact it has 6 bedrooms really helps!

This house will still need some help so that it works well for Matthew. We plan on knocking out a wall in the next couple years and putting all laminate wood floors down so that his chair rolls with ease. We will also eventually have to modify the master bathroom so it can be wheelchair accessible, but that is a ways down the road (I hope)

I love your home, Lisa. 2 story homes are my favorite. I am not fond of ranch style homes, but alas, that is what we need for Matthew, so that is what we bought. I hope you guys don't have to move soon. I understand though, how hard it is to carry a child up and down the stairs. We talked about buying a two story home that had an office and putting french doors on the entry to the room and turning it into a bedroom for Matthew. Maybe that is a possibility for you??

Ahh, now I'm rambling! I probably should just have emailed you :)
